So I played a bit. It's frustrating.
It's like OH OH I have a wooden pick axe... now what. Ok time to make a stone one. Oh, what, where did my pick axe go? Opps, I broke it.
So maybe I'll build here... AH THE CREEPERS ARE AFTER ME

Oooph, got shot by an arrow, WHERE THE DAGNAMIT *falls to death*
Oh that was*fun* *shudders*
Maybe I'll build ontop of a massive rock tower. (goes up to top of rock tower)

OH MY GOSH THIS GAME HAS TRAINS? I love trains, trains are amazing. I have to make trains. Ok, how do I make trains? Oh... I see, complicated materials that I can't get with my wooden pick axe!

Yeah that was my first reaction to the game. I wanted to play it so bad, so i stuck with it.

You can turn the settings on to "peaceful" if you just want to build. Might be a good way to start off to get the hang of things.
