Howdy y'all. I, Pun Intended, will be your guest writer today (and hopefully on other days as well!). So, as most of you probably know by now, Square Enix is releasing a remastered version of Final Fantasy X and X-2. But wait! There's more!

Gun deaths caused by tangerines

cell phones

I often argue with people on the internet (*gasp*, who would have guessed)

For example, lets look at the gun death statistical evidence, in many states, gun violence increases with gun ownership, while in other states, gun violence decreases with gun ownership.

Windows 8 isn't bad, you're just using it wrong.

Watch the video, and read along as you go. This is a commentary on it.

Are you aware of the dangers of elder gods on the internet? It's a real threat.

One out of 97 young girls have nearly been abducted by an elder god. They may come back alive, but they do not come back sane. It's a life long damaging problem that we need to increase awareness of. Talk to your children. Every child told about the problem can be saved from the problem. To properly train against these situations, please consult Realm Of The Mad God

The only way to cure eldergod insanity involves a tri flux capacitor and some very suspicious people in a mall parking lot.
The best method to deal with an elder god is to avoid the elder god in the first place. Think of the children please, just think of the children.

Things I discovered #2

I just discovered, steam has a game called "drop that beat like an ugly baby" and another one called "drunken robot pornography"

This is quite odd to me, but it's kinda cool

Network from hell

This post might be a bit technical, so if you're boring, don't bother reading it.

Gender Dyscodia: Interactions of gender in the tech field

It's interesting to document the differences of how women and men are treated in the programming society. Guys are "just another programmer", while women are "bleeding edge" (bad pun, I know).

A guy asks for help, and it's like "uhh, you did something wrong with (blarg), should should fix it"

A person who lacks a y chromosome asks for help. "Oh, let me help you! Uh, hi, uhm, you're cute (atleast your screen name is cute), uhm, your code needs a new tri flux capacitor, let me code you a library for one, and change the compiler to accept time travel."

Ocarinas

Songbird Ocarina is a fantastic ocarina company

So, you've played Zelda Ocarina Of Time. You've memorized every note on every song by heart.

Heck, you've played every Zelda game ever made, and were annoyed when the instrument used to be called "Flute"

Did you know, it's a real instrument? And not just one for children!

Making it fast with ramdisks

Let's start. I love Ramdisks and Ramdisk Accessories.

So, here we are, on the computer. Lets say, you have a crazy system, i7, fast hard drive (or even for moar speed, SSD), 16 to 64GB of ram, and you're like "how do I make this thing faster"

InMotionHosting: A review for those who don't INTERNETZ

This Wordpress blog is hosted by InMotionHosting, So, when I switched from blogger to word press (I switched back later)(which is why my posts older than this have some derps), I did some investigation. Wordpress.com seemed ok, but the price on damn near everything was way too expensive. Wordpress.org is nice, but you have to host your own page.

I decided to take the learning approach and purchased a shared host. I searched the internets, blog after blog, forum after forum. Some people say some say hostgator, some say bluehost , some say some other random esortic smalltime hosts.

Building a blog

So, I oftened wondered "Hey, there are all these blog websites, how do they not float away?"

That was before I got my own domain, created a blog, and learned that the internet is not actually made out of tubes (despite what some politicians may feel)

So I investigated

Blogging wizardry

So I had an idea for the most convoluted blog setup ever.

I like blogger, it's a nice platform, has google+ integration, is easily customizable, etc.

I dislike tumblr, but there is a massive storm of traffic there.

So here's the idea.

Will not compute

Oh internet I love you

I found this on stack exchange. Someone couldn't figure out why their program wouldn't compile. Can you?enter image description here
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5508110/why-is-this-program-erroneously-rejected-by-three-c-compilers

I didn't know stack exchange had comedians.

What made it even better was this comment below

Virus??

Anyone else have this experience? I've never seen someone complain that they have a virus, while having an actual virus.

More often than not, their "virus" is a broken windows install, or having 5 antivirus programs installed simultaneously.

What is the most common cause of "viruses" for you guys?

Man vs Pizza

I'd recommend keeping your fingerprints despite legal advantages of having none. I hate you pizza pan. I love you frozen green beans.

I discovered what a horrible idea it is for you to keep your pizza tray, in the oven for storage.

Turned the oven on.

Waited for it to heat up.

Realized pizza tray was in oven. Took it out with oven mitts.

Took mitts off, grabbed foil

Carefully added foil... slipped up a bit

OMG MY FINGER IS ON FIRE OMG OMG OMG OMG THE WORLD IS ENDING AND IT'S NOT EVEN 3:17 AM

Yeah, don't do that.

Slightly less than epic fan reviews

So, I ordered some fans.

I'll give a quick synopsis of my fans and then explain why nearly all fan data is irrelevant.

Academia further mystified #2

So I have a data structures using c++ at my local university. The teacher is pretty flexible with things, and he's pretty helpful.

Thing is, he doesn't use any form of cloud storage, our grades aren't listed on the school website, to get files from him, we have to physically bring a flash drive to class, and copy it off his computer.
Nearly every teacher at this school uses blackboard.

He also requires us to print out all of our assignments, on physical paper.

I thought this was a programming class, not an ancient script!

WATER YOU DOING SCHOOL!?!?

Atleast his projects are reasonable.

Academia further mystified #1

So, it was seriously snowing yesterday.

Half the state shut down (Illinois, which by the way, is pronounced ill eh noy, as in, annoy, and not illinoise)

I check to see if I have to go to my discrete structures, and computer architecture class.

Things that horrify me: #1

I once saw this at the local library. I wanted to run.

Minecraft: #2

So I played a bit. It's frustrating.

It's like OH OH I have a wooden pick axe... now what. Ok time to make a stone one. Oh, what, where did my pick axe go? Opps, I broke it.

So maybe I'll build here... AH THE CREEPERS ARE AFTER ME

Minecraft: #1

Starting to look into this mine-craft thing. It's absolutely insane what you can do with this game, but it's very overloading!

I will write more about this as I explore it.

I keep seeing things about minecraft out there.

You see lego minecraft

Minecraft foam pick axes

or even

Minecraft Swords

There are tons of amazon.com products that you can find.

Given the cultural significance of minecraft, I really need to learn more about it.

Things out of your control #1

I once had a customer tell me "fuck off" because I couldn't fix the app on his ipad.

Server from a third party service had a mobile only outage, and who gets the blame? Of course, some random IT person who has nothing to do with it.

When things are out of your control, sometimes you still feel at blame, even though you didn't do anything wrong at all.

Want to know what I think about that? Hi! I'm a server! Who are you?
Server Attention Span

Today I discovered: #1

Someone I know who is really good with office, particularly publisher, didn't know how to restart a computer.

This Jane Doe is someone who I actually rather like, but it just confuses me!

That's like learning to gyrocopter before you can walk.

My trip into domain hell

This blog, as you may have noticed, actually has a top level domain now.

The creation of this blog goes way back beyond the creation of the account, I’ve always wanted to blog, never knew what to name it.
